ACC Drama Fall Prospectus

About:

The ACC Drama Department recruits new students throughout the year to their program.

Problem:

They needed a print piece to hand out the prospective students that explained all of their degree plans, classes, department, and included some information about the City of Austin.

Solution:
I created a 72 page Prospectus for the program. They gave me examples of other Prospectuses they liked. From there, we discussed the features they were drawn to were the white space and large pictures that aided the information/featured the programs. Using their outline of what the department wanted included, I handled all layout, design, typography, graphics and found pictures in the ACC Drama files and in Stock photo pages online. I pulled copy shown here from the ACC website.

The Process

This project started with a conversation. The ACC Drama Department came to the table with research in hand. They showed me several Prospectuses they like and we went over what they loved about each. Once I had an idea of the vision, I created sketches and started thinking out how we could make the Program Map more visually appealing.

Cover

We focused on the cover first. Once we decided on design elements of the cover, we could tie them throughout the book. We tried a few different ideas, but settled on a large picture and had a line flourish drawing attention to the text.

Program Map

For the Program Map, I wanted to make it visually appealing, but keep the key information.

More Pages

When we started laying everything out, the Art Director decided the wanted even more pictures and full page spreads. Something that I had originally as about 30 pages, turned into 72 pages. It turned into a stunning piece that showcased the city of Austin and the ACC Drama Department Programs.
